The Life of a Engaged, Full-time Work, Full-time Study Student-

Life at times can be stressful for a college student. There are finals to take, projects to be completed, family plans along the way, work to bring home the bacon, and many other things that seem to nudge in, saying "I'm the most important, focus on me right now!". Amidst all the chaos, it is strange to feel okay with it all. What a blessing that can be.  Even if our worst fear is this...
And we hope for this...
I know that it will all be good in the end.
Carry on my fellow students, study hard.

What an incredible week!

Many reflect on this past week as a week of being grateful, making great Black Friday purchases, and spending time with the ones we love (not to mention football...). What an incredible week that our country has to solidify our gratitude and love to those who deserve it.  I hope that we all may look upward for gratitude and the love the we receive every day. As a country, we don't do it enough. As Abraham Lincoln put it:

""We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in number, wealth, and power as no other Nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God who made us... It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended power, to confess our sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.”

I couldn't agree more!

This week there has been a lot of world-wide controversy with ISIS and its affects it has had with the world, more specifically France.  I believe it is quite ridiculous that the United States is sitting out on this one.  We could potentially be on the brink of World War III, but our leaders refuse to take part in what could safe a lot of American lives.  I have done research on what has been happening, and although I don't know everything, I have come to know that the world does not view the United States as a threat or power as much as it used to, which I believe is a mistake.  Yes, we should not have to be the worlds police, but if we are one of the few hopes for other countries, I believe it is a God-given right to protect our friends and allies. I am very opinionated about our commander and chief, and have supported him in decisions that I didn't agree with, but I am stuck with my opinion that next election could not come soon enough, unless the presidential shoes are filled by someone who does a worse job as our president BO. It's nice to know I am not the only one with this opinion.

A Mormon Controversy

Many will disagree with my beliefs, some may call me "brainwashed" or whatever, but I believe this is a positive move for the church. Let me explain. I feel sorry for those who are involved in a homosexual relationship because, unless they change their ways, they can't have an eternal family by marriage, therefore, condemning the children they would adopt. This change will allow the children of these people to see for themselves and gain a true knowledge that this is Christ's kingdom on earth. It will be a test. It will be hard. I keep seeing hateful comments towards the church and its leaders. I am not saying it's bad to feel hurt or confusion because of these new "rules", on the contrary, it's expected. However, His thoughts are not our thoughts, nor His ways our ways. I believe in the family and its progression, and I am in a contrary stance for anything that would oppose it.
"The end of all, activity in the Church is to see that a man and a woman with their children are happy at home, sealed for eternity."
-Boyd K Packer 2015
What an appropriate final talk of his life.
I'm convinced that this is the best way to give those children the tools to be able to make the right choices and have God blessed families in the future.

A Contrary Voice

I agree with mostly everything that James says in this video.  He is one we should respect because of the accomplishments he as done in his life including: starting up 20 business ventures, writing a best-selling novel, and continuing a career in hedge fund management.  Let me know what you all think!

College is a Waste of Time and Money

This week's post is a bit different. This post tells you a little more about me and one of my hobbies. I love to ride dirtbikes.  Many consider me crazy for having such a dangerous hobby,  but it is one of the only things I can do and just let go.  I love the thrill of not knowing what's new around the corner, but gunning the throttle anyway.  There is a saying in my family: When in doubt, gas it. Meaning, if you are unsure about what you are about to face, rather than slowing down and observing, gas it and take it as it is!  Perhaps not the most safe way to live, but I am a example that it's a lot more interesting and fun! For those who read this, I encourage you to take a leap of faith and the next time you are faced with a dilemma and are in doubt, rather than taking your time in digesting the best option and wasting time, just "gas it!"
